Privacy Policy — Egglet

Effective 2026-08-03

Egglet is a calm, private iOS app that helps you tell the people you trust how you feel and what you need. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use Egglet. The short version: your information stays on your device, and nothing is sent to us.

This app is published by Tom Frauenfelder (“we”, “us”). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at tom@millwork.studio.

The short version

  • Egglet works entirely on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server behind it.
  • We do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share your personal information.
  • There is no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking in the app.
  • Your check-ins, reflections, reminders, and people list stay on your device unless you choose to share or export them.
  • Messages you compose are sent as ordinary texts, through your own device, only to the people you choose.

Information Egglet stores on your device

Everything you enter in Egglet is stored locally on your device, in the app’s private storage. This can include:

  • Check-ins and reflections - the feelings, needs, body sensations, and notes you record.
  • Your people - the trusted contacts you add (a name and how you know them).
  • Your profile - your “what helps / what hurts”, your gentle asks, and sensory preferences.
  • Reminder settings - if you choose to turn on notification reminders.

We never receive any of this. It does not leave your device unless you deliberately share or export it.

Contacts

If you choose to add someone to your people list from your contacts, Egglet uses the standard iOS contact picker. This picker runs outside the app, and Egglet receives only the display name of the contact you select.

Egglet does not import your address book. It does not read or store contact phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, or contact identifiers.

Notifications

Notification reminders are optional. Egglet only schedules reminders after you grant iOS notification permission and choose your reminder settings. These are local notifications generated on your device. There are no push notifications and no server involved. You can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.

Messages you send

When you send a message from Egglet, it goes as an ordinary text through your device’s own messaging, only to the person you choose. Egglet does not route messages through any server of ours and keeps no copy on our side.

Once a message leaves your device, it is handled by your messaging app, mobile carrier, and the recipient - the same way any other text message is. That part is outside Egglet’s control and is governed by their terms and privacy practices, not this policy.

Sharing and exporting

Egglet lets you export or share your own content (for example, your journal) using standard iOS share options. This only ever happens when you choose to do it, and it goes to the destination you pick. We are not involved and receive nothing.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Egglet contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking software. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How long your information is kept

Because everything is stored on your device, your information stays there until you delete it. You can remove individual entries in the app, or delete all of it by removing the app from your device. When you delete the app, its on-device data is removed with it.

Your control

You are in full control of your information at all times, because it lives on your device. You can view, edit, and delete what you have entered from within the app, and you can remove everything by uninstalling Egglet. Since we never receive your information, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf.

Children

Egglet is not directed at children and is not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because the app does not collect information at all.

A note on crisis support

Egglet is not therapy, medical care, crisis intervention, emergency monitoring, or a substitute for contacting emergency services. Any crisis resources shown in the app are informational only. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and post the revised version here. Because the app itself collects no information, any changes will simply describe how the app behaves.
